PPI 4-20™ vs Oxo-Degradable |
|
Biodegradable, Compostable, Recyclable material Versus Oxo-degradable Additive (EPI) products
|
Oxo-degradable material uses heat and light to break down material. Problems arise due to heat or light starting the degrading process prematurely.
Oxo-degradation needs heat and light to start and continue the degrading process. The process stops when put buried in a typical landfill where heat and light are nonexistent.
Oxo-degradable material does not degrade in the ocean, ponds, streams or other natural bodies of water.
Oxo-degradable additives use heavy metals to start the degradation process. These eventually enter the environment.

PPI 4-20™ Products
|
|
Differ from oxo-degradable products because they are not affected by heat or light. Degradation process only starts and continues in environments where microbes are active such as landfills, compost facilities (commercial & home) and natural bodies of water (ocean, streams & ponds).
Have no specific shelf life or storage requirements.
Do not contain any heavy metals.
Are easily recycled.
